Privacy Policy: Effective April 1, 2005
The trust between a bank and its customers begins with the bank’s assurance that its records are accurate and complete, and that the bank will protect the confidentiality of its customers’ business. Iowa State Savings Bank pledges this to you.
When necessary and appropriate to provide you with a broad range of financial products and services, to maximize the efficiency of our services, and to maximize your convenience, we use information technology to manage and maintain customer information.
What Information We Collect
As your bank, we maintain records of your accounts, including balances and histories such as payments made from a deposit account or to a loan account. These records are “nonpublic personal information”. This term is defined as information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. In addition to information about your transactions with others or with us, we may collect “nonpublic personal information” about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income;
- Information we receive from third parties such as credit bureaus, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.
What Information We Disclose
We may disclose all of the information that we collect, as described above.
We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties:
- Financial service providers, such as mortgage bankers, securities broker-dealers, and insurance agents;
- Non-financial companies, such as retailers, direct marketers, airlines, and publishers; and
- Others, such as non-profit organizations, etc.
We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties as permitted by law.
- To assist us in servicing your loan or account with us;
- To government entities in response to subpoenas or otherwise as required by law;
- To credit reporting agencies with whom we contract to obtain credit information for loan underwriting and with whom we are contractually obligated to share information to ensure that our customers’ credit histories are as accurate and complete as possible.
- We may disclose a limited amount of information we receive from you to companies that work for us in providing you with products and services. This could include companies that we authorize to offer supplementary products and services to you. These companies are acting on our behalf when they provide these services and are obligated by contract to maintain the information they receive in a confidential manner. They are not authorized to use the information other than for the specific, authorized purpose. The information we would disclose in such circumstances would include the fact that you applied for, or have had an account with us and your name, address and social security number.
How To Opt Out
If you prefer that we not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to nonaffiliated third parties, you may OPT OUT of those disclosures, that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law). If you have a joint account(s), one account holder may OPT OUT on behalf of all holders of the account. If you wish to OPT OUT of disclosures to nonaffiliated third parties, please notify us:

We cannot honor requests for OPT OUT submitted by e-mail.
Please allow five (5) days from the date you notify us of your decision to OPT OUT for your choice to be effective.
If you decide to close your account(s) with us, or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices we describe in this notice.
Our Security Procedures
To safeguard customer information, we restrict access to your personal and account information to those on our staff who need to know the information to provide products or services to you. Our personnel policies include appropriate standards of conduct and disciplinary procedures regarding maintaining confidentiality of customers’ records and information. We maintain a constant awareness and provide frequent training regarding consumer and customer confidentiality and privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information. We ensure that the nonpublic financial information we share with contracted third parties is protected by the terms of our contracts with these third parties.
Online Privacy and Security
Iowa State Savings Bank is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our web site guests. The following online policy demonstrates our commitment to our customers to maintain their online privacy and security.
Web site guests may elect to communicate with the bank via e-mail. E-mail is used internally to handle the sender’s request. E-mail addresses are not disclosed or sold to other organizations. Guests should keep in mind that e-mail is not secure and others may have access to your transmissions. We suggest that guests do not include non-public personal or confidential information in e-mail messages to the bank.
The Bank’s web site pages may provide our guests with the opportunity to click on links to third party web sites. Iowa State Savings Bank supports the protection of privacy on the internet and strongly suggest that when linking to a third party site you review their privacy policy.

Your Responsibility
Our policies and practices can only succeed to the extent of our responsibility. You carry the main burden for protecting your privacy, deflecting attempts to steal from you your information or assets, and for protecting your identity.
Open mail from the bank promptly and reconcile your statements regularly. At a minimum, review your bank statements each month for irregularities. Protect your social security number, debit and credit card numbers, account passwords, access codes and other personal information. Take measures to minimize the damage in case your purse or wallet is stolen. Protect your incoming and outgoing mail. Destroy items you are discarding that contain personal financial information. Before disposing of solicitations you receive, tear them through to make identity theft more difficult. Do business with reputable people.
